SPRING

These pictures of my prints are awful and I can't say much more about the prints for that matter. Maybe they look better in person? Anyways, I may not be happy with my body of work this term but I created a lot of work and stayed engaged and busy for the most part. I got to print a multi-layer woodblock (the two bottom prints) this term and I had fun doing it. I didn't experiment with my etching but I will be getting down with some aquatint and engravings come Fall. As for the Summer I will be painting up a storm and printing more multi-layer woodblocks in my basement. Maybe I'll even try a suicide block, that will twist my brain into a big ol' knot.

PRINTS

Mixed media on plastic sheet. Intaglio print 11' x 15'

Mixed media on cardboard. Intaglio print 11' x 15'

Dry point on foam board. Relief print 11' x 15'

The quarter is starting off really well. I've been pretty on top of
my school work, I mean look I already have three prints!
Yesterday was a total loss, ugh I dislike thinking about it. The
night before I had too much caffeine and couldn't rest fully. In
the morning I had breakfast with a gorgeous man but the rest of
the day dragged on. Could hardly keep my eyes open in class and
spent my time at home half awake. Today will be better, going to
be super productive and get all kindz of stuff done.

Portland is a magical vortex

Moving
Steady now
Steady now
Steady now
About one
Mile per hour
Mile per hour
Mile per hour
Upwards
Slow and steady
Slow and steady
Slow
And I've never been more
Touched by
Girls hands

Pretty little fingers
They will become the stars
The world is
A rolling stone
Simultaneously gathering and
Hunting
They will become the stars

THESE MAGIC MOMENTS

Living through music I guess you could say.

Its ridiculous how much I listen to music. I'm constantly singing,
lyrics always running through my mind, so much so that I'll be in
a car other than my own, or out somewhere with friends, at the
movies or whatever and I'll have moments where I'm wishing
that I was listening to a particular song instead of doing
whatever I'm doing. I guess you could call it obsessive but music
just means so much to me. Plain and simple. I get such a thrill
and so many emotions running through me when I listen to
songs that I love. I relate to them so much. I've had Algernon
Cadwallader songs playing in my head for the last three days, I
don't want it to end.

Feels like the next step is to start playing music.

Doubt, my usual downfall

The move to Portland is nearing closer and closer. Guess you could say that I'm nervous or apprehensive, but excited all the more. I had a dream last night that I gained about 30 pounds and had a big hump on my back. These feelings that I have are extra baggage, weighing me down.

I had this really awful feeling on Tuesday. Feelings of pain on my neck and shoulders and one sharp pain around my left hip. After I had a tough conversation that I had been avoiding all these pains went away, I felt lighter. Its amazing what the body can do. Now I have to have the conversation with myself. Get myself out of bed in the morning and outside, even though I think sleeping in is "luxurious" because I don't have any other obligations in the morning and I should "take advantage" of the extra sleep.

In the dream I had there was also a lot of swimming in pools. Its been on my mind. Its summer and I really enjoy swimming. Art will be posted later, I've been meaning to put some up.

like children with spongy bones, rubber band muscles and perfect posture.

Got my foot behind my head today. Yay for small accomplishments! I credit the amazing massage I enjoyed earlier in the day. Still haven't figured out the technique to balancing compass pose, but in due time, in due time. I give it a week! haha.

Been spending a lot of time quietly contemplating my existence and sweating buckets. Its been good.

The trip to San Francisco is nearing, March 10th you will come too soon! I am super stoked. Can't wait to have four days with beautiful faces surrounding me and ever more gorgeous hearts. I may not come back!

Focused

I can safely say that I am now completely single, no attachments.

It feels good. It took about a week of silence on my part to realize just how I feel as a person, and I need to improve on finding happiness and contentment within myself and not someone else. Especially if I'm not completely satisfied with the person I'm seeing. I'll find that puzzle piece one day.

Life Force

Always a fresh new breath of air unknown to my body every time I inhale.

And as I exhale collectively I expel the stagnant prana trapped within me, within us as a whole, bringing new life into each and every soul.

Clear Minded

Sometimes it hurts to be sarcastic, actually most of the time it hurts. What are people afraid of?
What have I been afraid of?

Its a hardening habit to shake and it must be done. It creates confusion and disillusion, and no one wants that.

Home

Today is my last free class at Corepower Yoga (new students get the first week free!). I was skeptical of Corepower at first, but I must say that I've learned a lot from taking classes there. My plan is to take the next couple of weeks to really explore the yoga community of San Diego. So I will spend one week at each studio and try to experience as many teachers as possible. I'm having the time of my life. Everyday is an adventure and a learning experience, everyday I become more connected to people and to myself. There are obstacles to conquer with each breath, but I am amazed at the amount of energy I've been bottling up inside. I have enough strength to do just about all the postures I feared.

The most exciting part about studying at new studios is that I'm not really there. I'm practicing from a different part inside me, practicing from the heart, and the heart resides at the Chula Vista Yoga Center. I can feel it radiate from within me, like a beacon of light.

And so it begins

Today marks the last day of yoga teacher training and the first day of a journey without a destination. Heavy stuff. I will never forget all of the amazing experiences that I've encountered on the path of self realization. Namaste!!!

late night

I started this drawing for a friend of mine who is thinking about getting a robin tattoo on her shoulder. I had her in mind, but I also had Liam Finn on the brain as well. Music has so much influence on my drawings.

I drew this sweet little guy for my sister and I'm happy to say that it has been used as a cover up for a tattoo she has of her ex boyfriend's name. At last!!

The other night I was trying to figure out what to draw and my friend Lou suggested I draw us, and this is what came out. Everyone seems to like it, but I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet. I think it's missing something, I may add a little ink wash to the background to make it feel grounded.

I gathered a few friends at a local boba tea house tonight for a drawing session, and I started this portrait. I'm very pleased with it so far, even though things are a little off, but hopefully I will ink the rest soon.

I'm up late. I left my friend Carrie's house with the intention of going right to sleep, but I'm feeling very inspired so I thought I'd do a little art update. I've been getting down with the illustrations and loving it, but I'm going to try to really dive into painting over the next few weeks. I've been asked to enter a piece into a group show for Dia De Los Muertos, so I'm definitely looking forward to that.

It feels funny to be up so late. For the last 6 weeks I've been going up to bed at about 10 or as early as 9 every night and getting up at 6:30. I love it, I love getting up early in the morning, but for some reason it feels really good to be up right now. I feel mischievous and young, like those high school days where I would stay up and draw and listen to records.

I found myself feeling lonely earlier even though I was in the presence of good friends and now that I am by my lonesome I can feel them here with me. There's no reason to be lonely, just alone.
